ArmchairEd posts grades to orders once scored.  Grades are then sent to the university.  Allow six weeks from course submission for your grades to be processed by the university. Please plan accordingly.

Are credits graduate level? Semester or quarter-based? Is Seattle Pacific University accredited?

The graduate level quarter-based credits you receive through ArmchairEd come from Seattle Pacific University, an accredited university. Contact your state accreditation office for verification if you have concerns. Click Here for information on Seattle Pacific University’s  graduate level designation.   Seattle Pacific University is part of NC-SARA (National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements); 48 states are part of the NC-SARA reciprocity agreement.

Do you offer courses for grade only?

All courses may be taken for letter grade or pass/fail.  You must indicate your grade preference on the verification page.

How Do I Find My SPU Student ID #?

Your SPU ID # is listed right under your name on the emailed receipt right after you register.

How do I get a receipt for tax purposes?

You will receive an email confirming your purchase, and you should keep it for tax purposes. You can also print a copy of the purchase information by logging onto your account and clicking on your order.  Seattle Pacific University mails 1098-T’s..

How do I submit coursework?

Students may submit coursework via USPS mail, fax (360-756-8936), or via our secure dropbox (see “Submitting Coursework” pulldown). We will not accept mail that requires a signature. If you want mail confirmation, send it Flat Rate Priority, Delivery Confirmation. DO NOT request a signature.  WE DO NOT ACCEPT EMAIL SUBMISSIONS.  SUBMIT ELECTRONICALLY TO OUR SECURE DROPBOX.

 

How many courses can I take at the same time?

Seattle Pacific University has a 60-credit graduate level maximum per academic year. The academic year is July 1 through June 30.

The course syllabus is provided for your preview.  Please be sure to register PRIOR to completing any coursework. Registering for a course after coursework has been started violates accreditation standards and puts the University at risk; therefore, SPU reserves the right to not award credit if students are found to be in violation of this policy. 

How Quickly Can I Submit Coursework?

You can order at any time and have one year to submit coursework.

What are tests like?

Each test contains multiple choice questions and essay options. One-credit Educational Leadership courses include 10 multiple choice questions and a 1-page essay. Three-credit book courses include 30 multiple choice questions and one or more essays, with total length of about eight pages. Five-credit book courses include 50 multiple choice questions and two to three essays, with total length of about ten to 12 pages. Page requirement means full pages, or revisions will be requested.  We do not count citations as part of the page requirement.  Click Here to view a sample test.

What do I need to do about transcripts? Where can I find my grade?

Your grade is posted to you SPU account. You can download a transcript from your account.  SPU Transcripts will be available within 1-2 business days of the date the grade is received from ArmchairEd.  ArmchairEd typically sends grades to the university weekly, although we ask you to allow three weeks.  If you have submitted coursework and haven’t seen a grade posted to your SPU account within two weeks, you may received an email request from ArmchairEd to revise coursework, so check your emails or contact us.

Revisions are required if you did not follow the page requirements for essays, essays are not single-spaced, or you missed too many on the multiple choice section.  Follow the rubric!

 

What form of payment do you accept for classes through ArmchairEd.com?

Payment may be made by check or major credit card, however, you will be able to download the test once payment is received.  Personal checks must be made out to ArmchairEd. There will be a $25 charge for credit card refunds if you wish to drop courses. 

Checks made out to SPU will be returned.

What if I don’t pass the test the first time?

The goal of ArmchairEd is to make the process a learning experience you can use as an educator. You will need to pass with a criterion of 70% or above.  If you score below the criterion or receive below a ‘C’ grade, you will have an opportunity to correct your answers, with both scores being averaged for your final grade.  The grading rubric is included on each test. Follow the rubric! Tests that are double-spaced, do not meet page limits or do not answer the essay questions will be returned for revisions.

Where can I purchase book publications?

Unfortunately,  book publications cannot be shipped by ArmchairEd and will need to be obtained separately by the student. . Links to publishers can be found by selecting the course, and clicking where it says “Click here to buy this book”.

Why do you need my social security number and birthdate?

The federal government requires Seattle Pacific University  to collect social security numbers and birthdates for auditing purposes.  ArmchairEd and SPU take your privacy seriously, and our sites are protected.   Your PARTIAL student id # is used on our website.
